March 18, 2021 in Fitness

Exercising is an integral part of each individual’s daily routine. Ever since the pandemic has taken a toll on us, going outdoors to remain fit became a task. Gyms are closed, and being outdoors is unsafe. But that does not mean that one will stop taking care of his/her fitness.

Staying fit from home is not as complicated as it sounds. Almost all activities that are required to keep you healthy can be done while staying at home. To make things simpler for you, we bring you ten ways to stay fit at home:

Eat healthy: Having a nutritious diet is the first step towards remaining fit within the comfort of your home. A diet rich in protein, vitamins, and all the essential minerals is a must. Include more food rich in anti-oxidants like basiligo (also called basil), they help prevent cell damage caused by free radicals.
Plan properly: Devise a proper meal and workout schedule, prioritizing daily exercises.
Indoor Workout: Most cardio and weight training exercises can be done at home. Planks, push-ups, jumping jacks, dumbbell rolls, etc., all are exercises which do not require a person stepping out of his/her house. A regular workout routine immensely helps in staying fit at home.
Virtual Classes: Technological advancements have made it easier for us to access any fitness regime we want. From yoga classes, to dance classes, everything is available online within the comfort of our homes. Enroll in any of these to stay fit at home!
Drink as much water as possible: Staying hydrated is essential, as water helps transport all the nutrients in your body. It gives you the energy to perform at your highest level and regulates your body temperature.
Take up fitness challenges: The easiest way to stick to a particular exercise, and remain fit by being consistent, is through a challenge. Take the 30-day challenge and pick a specific body part, and its particular exercise, and do it throughout the month. Just focusing on one body part for a month can lead to extraordinary results and contribute to your fitness.
Use the stairs wherever possible: If you have an option to choose between the stairs and the elevator, always go for the former option.
Get enough sleep: Make sure that you get at least 7 hours of sleep every day, as your body needs an adequate amount of rest. After a home workout, your body needs time to recover, repair, and build muscles. Growth hormone is produced while you sleep, so having the right amount of sleep is an absolute necessity to remain fit at home.
Move whenever possible: When indoors, we often get lethargic. Find the opportunity to move and stretch as much as you can.
Make self-care a habit: Mental wellness is as essential as physical fitness. Ensure you give yourself the time you need, and pamper yourself with the things you love for peace of mind.
